About Our Club
Welcome to the Wakefield Women's Club!
The Wakefield Women’s Club (WWC) was founded in 2001 as a non-profit social organization for women whose members are drawn from the Wakefield community as well as neighborhoods in North Raleigh, Wake Forest, and surrounding areas. WWC is open to all women, and is a wonderful way to meet people, whether you have been here your entire life or have only just arrived. We are a diverse group of women of all ages and a wide variety of interests.
WWC meets monthly, September through May for lunch at the Wakefield Country Club. Our lunch program features local speakers who cover a wide variety of topics. Our members enjoy a plethora of activities and special events, including Bunco, Canasta, Hand & Foot, Couples Dinner Group, Mahjong, Book Club, International Lunch Bunch… and so much more. Special events include our Annual Gala, Spring Fashion show and Fall Social. We are always open for new ideas for new activities. Members may sign up for as many activities as they choose. Club members are involved in coordinating all of our events and activities, which helps to make our club successful, fun and helps to build lasting friendships as well.
Even though WWC is not a service club, we support many community organizations, such as Interact Women’s Shelter of Raleigh. The shelter serves as a haven for women of domestic abuse. We also support the Tri-Ministry Food Pantry in Wake Forest and the Triangle affiliate of Dress for Success, which promotes economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire.
